Role Overview
This is not a traditional scheduling role. The function is significantly more complex and operationally driven, requiring strong coordination across multiple departments and workflows.
Unlike most home infusion models—where dispensing schedules dictate infusion timing—patients and nurses at CSI determine infusion dates based on patient preference. These individualized schedules are then entered into internal systems (CareTend), which drive pharmacy fulfillment. Because this process is not fully automated, the role requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and continuity of care.
Additionally, medications must be dispensed and delivered 4–7 days prior to the scheduled infusion, requiring constant monitoring and proactive follow-up. The team is continuously reconciling patient-driven infusion dates with pharmacy dispensing timelines, necessitating forward planning and ongoing adjustments.
At its core, this role serves as a central coordinator of critical information across nursing, pharmacy, and operations.
