Location : Phoenix Metro Area

Compensation : $100,000–$115,000 base salary plus 5–10% bonus, with flexibility based on experience

Position Summary

Our client is hiring a Director of Clinical Training & Development to design and lead the systems that develop exceptional pediatric therapists across a growing, multi-clinic organization.

This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the CEO, focused on building structured onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing development programs that strengthen clinical judgment, consistency, and long-term clinician growth.

The role also oversees the student clinical rotation program, ensuring high-quality training experiences while building a strong pipeline of future therapists.

This is a clinical leadership and development role. It does not include billing, coding, reimbursement, or financial performance responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement structured onboarding programs for new therapists

• Build and maintain competency frameworks across OT, PT, and SLP

• Create scalable professional development pathways for clinicians

• Develop training materials, SOPs, and clinical best practice guidelines

• Ensure all training aligns with evidence-based care and clinical standards

• Partner with clinic leadership to identify and address training needs

Clinical Leadership & Quality

• Serve as a clinical resource and thought partner to therapists and practice leaders

• Strengthen clinical reasoning and decision making across the organization

• Promote consistent standards of care across multiple clinic locations

• Provide guidance on complex cases and clinical decision making

• Support documentation quality from a clinical accuracy standpoint

• Reinforce a culture of mentorship, learning, and accountability

Recruitment & Talent Development

• Partner with leadership on therapist hiring strategy

• Participate in clinical interviews and candidate evaluation

• Build relationships with universities and training programs

• Support retention through structured development and career pathways

• Identify high-potential clinicians and support leadership development

Student Rotation Program

• Oversee the student clinical rotation program across therapy disciplines

• Set clear expectations, structure, and learning objectives for rotations

• Support clinical supervisors in delivering strong student experiences

• Strengthen university partnerships and referral pipelines

• Use the program as a strategic source of future hires

• Administrative coordination may be supported by internal staff

Systems & Strategic Impact

• Build scalable training systems that support multi-clinic growth

• Track and improve outcomes related to clinician development

• Identify gaps in clinical quality and drive continuous improvement

• Partner with executive leadership on long-term clinical talent strategy

Scope Boundaries

This role does not oversee:

• Billing or coding

• Insurance reimbursement or revenue cycle

• Financial performance or productivity management

These functions are managed by dedicated specialists and leadership teams.2

Required Qualifications

• Licensed OT, PT, or SLP in good standing

• 5+ years of pediatric clinical experience

• Demonstrated experience mentoring clinicians or supervising students

• Strong clinical judgment and understanding of pediatric best practices

• Proven ability to influence and develop clinicians

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Ability to build systems, not just solve individual problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience within a pediatric therapy organization

• Experience building or scaling training programs

• Experience supervising student clinicians

• Experience working across multiple clinic locations
