Compensation: $20/hour

Type: Temporary, event-based position

About the Event

This role is for the 2026 TEX Gala presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts, benefiting the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, held at Globe Life Field. The evening features a red-carpet arrival, cocktail hour, dinner on the field, and live entertainment headlined by Zac Brown Band, along with live and silent auctions of Rangers experiences, autographed items, sports memorabilia, and more.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an outgoing, energetic Auction Event Assistant to support the auction portion of the gala. You’ll help with loading/unloading items, setting up displays, assisting with bidding, and engaging guests to encourage participation in both live and silent auctions.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys talking to people, loves sports, and is comfortable in a fast-paced event environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set-Up & Breakdown
  1. Assist with loading and unloading auction items and supplies.
  2. Help set up auction tables, displays, signage, and bid materials.
  3. Ensure items are organized, labeled, and presented attractively.
  4. Assist with packing and loading items and materials at the end of the event.
  • Auction Support & Guest Interaction
  1. Greet guests in the auction area and provide a warm, welcoming presence.
  2. Explain auction procedures, bidding rules, and item details to interested guests.
  3. Proactively engage attendees and encourage them to view and bid on items.
  4. Assist with monitoring bid sheets and/or mobile bidding (if applicable).
  5. Help spot and direct bidders during any live auction segments.
  6. Answer basic questions about sports, teams, and memorabilia items (training and item list will be provided).
  • General Event Support
  1. Maintain a professional, friendly demeanor throughout the event.
  2. Help keep the auction area tidy, organized, and guest-ready.
  3. Coordinate with event and auction staff to ensure a smooth guest experience.
Qualifications
  • Outgoing, friendly personality and comfortable approaching and speaking with guests.
  • Prior experience in events, customer service, sales, or hospitality is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sports and sports memorabilia (especially baseball) is a strong plus.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods during the event.
  • Able to lift and carry boxes/items (generally up to about 30–40 lbs) for set-up and breakdown.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work the full event day on Thursday, May 7.
  • Age 21+ preferred.

  • Date: Thursday, May 7
  • Hours: Event-day shift including set-up and breakdown (exact times to be confirmed; expect afternoon into evening).
  • Pay: $20 per hour, temporary/event-based role.
