This role supports a consistent pipeline of complex civil work and requires strong field leadership, technical knowledge, and a deep understanding of FDOT standards.

This opportunity is well suited for a Project Manager who thrives in fast‑paced environments, values strong collaboration with field teams, and enjoys managing technically challenging FDOT and transportation projects from start to finish.

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and documentation
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and agency representatives
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and ensure compliance with FDOT specifications and contract requirements
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational accountability across all phases of work

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Consistent backlog of FDOT and municipal roadway work in Lakeland, Polk County, and surrounding Central Florida markets
  • Contractor recognized for executing complex civil and utility projects , not low‑bid volume work
  • Strong internal support structure with estimating, engineering, and field teams experienced in FDOT delivery
  • Clear growth paths into major corridor programs, design‑build teams, or senior PM roles
  • Professional culture built on integrity, accountability, and treating people as trusted professionals

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on FDOT or municipal roadway / transportation projects
  • Strong working knowledge of FDOT specifications, permitting, QA/QC, and MOT requirements
  • Background managing roadway improvements, underground utilities, drainage, or civil infrastructure scopes
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, project budgets, schedules, and documentation
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with field teams and agency partners

Candidates without prior FDOT roadway or transportation PM experience will not be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual performance‑based bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, and paid time off
  • Long‑term career trajectory with a contractor consistently awarded significant transportation and utility projects
