Physician Assistant - Fertility (New-Grads welcome!)

Department: Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI)

Reports to: Director of Clinical Care, REI

Hours: Monday, Tuesday 8:00 AM- 5:30 PM, Friday and Sunday 8:00 AM- 2:00 PM

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000, annualized, commensurate with experience

The Physician Assistant is a key clinical role responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. This position involves conducting advanced assessments, managing complex cases, and performing various procedures to support the reproductive journey of patients. By collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, the PA ensures that patients receive personalized, high-quality care. This role is essential to the success of the REI department and contributes to Premium Health’s mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered, and culturally sensitive reproductive health services.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews patient cycles and manages the process of sending medications, ensuring timely and accurate administration.

• Meets with patients during monitoring visits, providing care and support throughout the treatment process.

• Conducts pregnancy scans and manages cases of non-viable pregnancies with compassion and clinical expertise.

• Performs procedures such as Saline Infusion Sonography (SIS), Endometrial Biopsy (EMBX).

• Conducts intakes, consults and follow ups.

• Coordinates care with other organizations, doctors’ offices, and between IVF and clinical/handoff

processes to ensure seamless patient care.

• Reviews daily labs, lab panels, Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) results, semen analysis (SA) reports, and diagnostic tests.

• Answers patient questions and makes clinical decisions regarding changes or acute issues, including handling escalated calls from the clinical team.

• Conducts phone calls with patients to discuss poor outcomes and provide emotional support and

guidance.

• Develops and adjusts treatment plans based on assessments of prior cycles and provider notes to

optimize future cycles.

• Coordinates with physicians (MDs) on cases requiring more complex management and collaboration.

• Provides coverage for scans, blood draws, and callbacks as needed, and conduct peer-to-peer reviews for insurance purposes.

• Maintains detailed documentation of all patient interactions, treatment plans, and clinical decisions using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

• Provides compassionate care and emotional support to patients, ensuring that their reproductive health needs are met with sensitivity and professionalism.

• Adheres to the highest standards of care and comply with all relevant regulatory guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant in New York State.

• Clinical experience in reproductive health or fertility treatments.

• Proficiency in conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress throughout fertility treatments.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and

administrative staff.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion

• Ability to maintain highly confidential information

• Adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements related to fertility treatments and patient care

• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail in patient documentation.

• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies.

• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to providing culturally sensitive care.
