Job Description

Job Title: Pharmacist (Contract)

Position Summary

The Pharmacist will provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role supports medication dispensing, clinical verification, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including emergency and psychiatric services. The assignment is short-term and well-suited for experienced pharmacists seeking a temporary engagement with a defined schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Support inpatient pharmacy operations, including acute care, emergency, and psychiatric services
  • Utilize pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic medical records to ensure accurate documentation
  • Prepare and review sterile and non-sterile medications as required
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, safety standards, and pharmacy best practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to optimize patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of pharmacist experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or higher
  • Active New York State Pharmacist license issued by NYSED (primary source verification required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems
  • IV room and sterile processing experience
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), including EPIC
