Job Description

Dependable Staffing is currently hiring experienced Pharmacists to work in long-term, 12 week block positions in Northern Arizona. These opportunities are to work in Native American communities in clinic outpatient and inpatient pharmacy settings.

Pharmacist Responsibilities:

• Fill and verify new and refill medication orders.
• Provide pharmacy and medication management services to patients.
• Counsel patients, their representatives, and/or patient family members on safe and effective use of, including compliance with, prescribed medications.
• Review medical records for safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of drug therapy with regard patient-specific factors (i.e. age, organ function, disease state). Consults with Medical Staff when concerns arise and collaborates with nursing staff to evaluate medication use.
• Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals, consults with providers on the significance of properties of drugs regarding absorption, metabolism and excretion in all age groups.
• All other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Services.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains a positive professional attitude and demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of legal dispensing practices, federal pharmacy regulations and therapeutic incompatibilities
• Knowledge of sterile compounding (and USP 800 regulations) and non-sterile compounding procedures
• Knowledge of drug-drug, drug-disease state, and drug-allergy incompatibilities
• Knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics of common disease states and treatment modalities, pathophysiology, and pharmacokinetics
• Administration of policies, procedures and activities in accordance with Client’s values.

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from accredited institution.

License and/ or certification: Must have a current valid and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy Arizona and have a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Schedule:

Outpatient: Monday- Friday 40 hour work week

Inpatient: 7-on, 7-off
