Payroll Administrator

Job Summary

A Financial Services company in downtown Kansas City is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems and a strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll using ADP
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
  • Review and audit payroll data for accuracy and compliance
  • Manage payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data integrity
  • Handle garnishments, benefits deductions, and direct deposits
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax forms
  • Generate payroll reports and assist with audits
  • Stay up to date on payroll laws and ADP system updates

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Administrator, or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems (required)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
