Job Title: Excavator Operator (Mining Operations)

Location: Kermit, TX

Schedule: 4-5 nights a week 12-hour shifts (overtime shifts may be required)

Pay Rate: $26–$34 per hour (based on experience)

Night Shift Differential: $2.50 per hour

Per Diem: $75 per day (eligible workdays)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Excavator Operator to support our mining operations. This position is open ONLY to those with PC900 or equivelant experience. This role requires advanced, hands-on experience operating excavators in a production mining environment. The Excavator Operator plays a critical role in material extraction, face work, trenching, and feeding downstream equipment. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional equipment control, situational awareness, and a strong commitment to safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic excavators to extract, load, and move material in an active sand mine
• Perform face work, benching, trenching, and precision digging as required
• Safely load haul trucks and support mining production targets
• Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections and complete equipment reports
• Monitor ground conditions and adjust work practices to maintain safe slopes and faces
• Communicate effectively with haul truck drivers, spotters, and supervisors
• Perform minor maintenance and keep equipment clean and serviceable
• Follow all company, site, and MSHA safety policies and procedures
• Work extended 12-hour shifts in outdoor and industrial conditions

Required Qualifications

• Proven excavator-specific operating experience (required)
• Ability to work 4-5 nights a week 12-hour shift schedule
• Strong understanding of safe digging practices and mine safety
• Demonstrated ability to load haul trucks efficiently and safely
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong focus on safety, precision, and productivity
• Reliable transportation to and from the job site

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior mining, quarry, or sand pit experience
• MSHA certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with large-frame or production-class excavators
• Safety-related certifications or advanced operator training

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay: $26–$34 per hour (DOE)

Work Environment
