Depackaging Equipment Operator

Location: Advance, NC
Full-Time / Hourly

Position Summary

The Depackaging Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of depackaging equipment and for ensuring that packaged organic materials are received, handled, and processed following established best practices. The operator must be able to work effectively with others and communicate clearly with drivers, operators, and other employees and visitors on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the depackaging equipment is operated properly, following all safety, process, maintenance, and environmental requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment on a daily and weekly basis.
• Ensure the area around the depackaging unit, including the tip area and mixing pit, are kept clean and organized.
• Comply with all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Complete operational reporting accurately and on time.
• Perform machine calibration and slurry/sludge sampling to ensure proper machine operation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Able to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and/or stand for long periods of time
• Able to reach above shoulder height and able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds
• Able to work outdoors in an environment exposed to weather, dirt/dust, and odors from organic materials

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment outdoors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and industrial production setting
• Exposure to moving heavy trucks, machinery, forklifts, and industrial equipment
• May require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking
