Job Description

We’re partnering with a leading media and entertainment company to find a talented Assistant Editor to support their creative production team. This hybrid role in San Franciso offers an exciting opportunity for experienced media professionals to contribute to high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment. 7-12 month contract with benefits avaialble.

Assistant Editor Responsibilities:

  • Manage the ingestion, transcoding, and organization of media assets, ensuring consistent naming and filing protocols within Avid MediaCentral.
  • Synchronize audio and video files to maintain accurate project alignment.
  • Support maintaining structured project and sequence setups within editing software.
  • Collect, log, and digitize assets for editorial use, including rough cuts and B-roll selections.
  • Export finished projects in any requested formats and prepare timelines for finishing and upscaling.

Assistant Editor Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in video editing and production.
  • Strong proficiency in Avid Media Composer, including managing media and project setup.
  • Solid understanding of post-production workflows, encoding, and file management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Resolve, color correction, and graphics is a plus; familiarity with Star Wars content is preferred.
