Responsibilities:

• Review journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Lead and supervise the month-end close process with a focus on timeliness and accuracy.
• Prepare internal financial statements and management reporting to support leadership decision-making.
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related footnotes in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist with annual external audit processes, including documentation and auditor liaison.
• Oversee inventory-related accounting, including physical inventory counts and inventory destruction events.
• Research and implement new accounting standards, and document process changes as required.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls within all financial processes.
• Partner with the CFO and FP&A team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop staff accountants while fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support both operational and financial initiatives.

Must-Have Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and month-end close processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and physical inventory processes.
• Proven leadership ability to supervise, mentor, and develop an accounting team.
• US GAAP
• Proficiency in advanced ERP/accounting systems used within manufacturing organizations.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• CPA designation or progress toward professional accounting certification.
• Experience assisting with consolidated financial statements and related footnotes.
• Familiarity with new accounting standards implementation and process documentation.
• Background in tobacco manufacturing or a related industry.
• Experience participating in or leading external audits.
